VEKA SOFTLINE 82 — uPVC Window & Door System

82mm uPVC profiles offering thermal performance, acoustic comfort, and design versatility.

System Overview

Proven uPVC Performance in an 82mm Profile

The VEKA SOFTLINE 82 is a PVC-U (uPVC) window and door system built on VEKA's 82mm profile platform. The system is designed to provide meaningful thermal and acoustic performance while remaining adaptable across a wide range of residential and light-commercial window and door configurations.

The 82mm profile depth allows the system to accommodate insulated glazing units up to 52mm — supporting double-glazed and triple-glazed configurations that deliver substantial improvements in thermal and acoustic performance compared to older single- or thin-double-glazed frames. Sealing is achieved through EPDM or TPE gaskets depending on the configuration, providing durable and weather-resistant perimeter seals.

uPVC as a material does not corrode, does not require painting, and does not conduct heat as readily as unbroken aluminum — making it a practical choice for applications where low lifetime maintenance is valued and where the sightline dimensions of aluminum are not a primary concern.

The SOFTLINE 82 system is available in white as standard, with woodgrain foil laminate options providing the visual warmth of timber finishes and solid color laminates available for design flexibility. This makes the system adaptable to both traditional and contemporary architectural contexts.

Understanding Thermal Performance Values

Frame Uf values for the SOFTLINE 82 are manufacturer-documented for specific profile combinations. These values describe the thermal transmittance of the frame profile in isolation.

Whole-window thermal transmittance (Uw) — the value most relevant to building performance — depends on glazing selection, opening dimensions, hardware, and the specific configuration being assembled. Published European performance values are based on EN standards and are not U.S. NFRC certifications. For project-specific thermal performance data, contact us during your specification process.

Why uPVC

The Case for uPVC Windows & Doors

uPVC is a well-established material for residential window and door systems with a distinct set of properties that suit many application types.

🌡️

Thermal Efficiency

uPVC profiles do not conduct heat the way unbroken metal does, contributing to a thermally efficient frame when combined with appropriate glazing. The SOFTLINE 82 is designed to support high-performance insulated glazing units.

🔧

Low Maintenance

uPVC does not corrode, rust, or require periodic painting or staining. Regular cleaning with soap and water is generally all that is needed to maintain both appearance and function over the lifetime of the product.

🔇

Acoustic Comfort

The mass and sealing system of an 82mm uPVC profile combined with appropriate insulated glazing can contribute meaningfully to reducing airborne sound transmission from exterior sources.

🎨

Design Versatility

While traditionally associated with white profiles, the SOFTLINE 82 is available in woodgrain laminates and solid colors, making it adaptable to period properties, contemporary designs, and everything between.
